Da Vince Code
As it's the flavour of the month, here's the Da Vinci Code. It's not in my list of favourites,
though I must admit, I did enjoy it a lot. This particular book is an illustrated version,
and Rash wanted one fo these so she could see what the book was talking about.
(This was long before the movie). One of her friends (yeah, guy-friends) got it for her.
The picture was taken in almost total darkness. The only light was a leak from the bezel
blue display of the coffee machine. It gives it almost an eerie feel. I tried to take away
some of the noise that creaps at such long expostures.

The Prophet
I read this book a long time ago. And then I bought it for Rash. I think it's the first book I
ever got her. It's an awesome piece, and very very deep. I think I will re-read this book
in the near future.

The Alchemist
This is Rashmi's book. She is too lazy to post. So I'll tell you what I thought about it.
The book is utter shit. Highly overrated, and it went no where. Don't make the
mistake of picking it up.

The Great Indian Novel
This novel was given to me by Piggu just before I left for the US. I couldn't
read it then, but I brought the book with me to the US, and read it later on.
It was an amazing book, and as far as political satire goes, this is as good
as it gets.

Kitchen Confidential
Some books are meant to be read. This one is from the time I was working for
Chef Kenneth Williams, during his ill fated stint at USC. He had this huge collection
of books, and one of them was this one. He asked me to check it out, and then
almost immediately resigned. When I gave his book back on the last day, he asked
me to keep it as a parting gift. It's an awesome book, and glorifies the whole kitchen.
I could understand it well as I know what goes on behind the scenes.
Rash enjoyed the book too.

Three Men in a Boat
This is one of the greatest books ever written. It's outright hilarious. Everyone should go out
and get a copy for themselves.
I got this book in Bangalore, and have read it several times since. I even have the
sequel, Three Men on the Bummel.

Calvin and Hobbs
Rashmi got me into Calvin and Hobbs. I had seen the kid and his stuffed toy in the paper,
but it was a passing glance till she forcved me to get her some books from Bangalore.
Problem is that I got hooked ! Over the years, we bought almost every book, till
they released this monster, with all the cartoons ever published. Could't let it pass.
Not after I declared to the world that Rashmi was the one in this article.
