Stone Canyon Inn

Right on the edge of Bryce Canyon in South Utah is the Stone Canyon Inn. I am posting
this entry from this inn, where we have been staying for 2 days. The joint has awesome
rooms, and is very cozy. The inn keeper's wife also makes the best breakfast !

Luxor

Driving past Vegas, on the way to Utah, we snapped this shot of the shhinx right outside
hotel Luxor. Luxor is one of the largest hotels in the world, and is in the shape of a
pyramid. It has a powerful beam mounted on the top, and that was once reputed to be
amongst the most powerful man made beams in the world. Luxor also has a large
3D IMAX theatre.

Westin Bonaventure

This is probably downtown's most famous hotel. It's been the setting for so many many
movies, it's hard to keep track. There's a nice revolving restaurant at the top, and I
go there sometimes. The famous scene in which Arnold takes the elevator while
mounted on a horse in true lies was taken here. In fact, there's a plaque in that elevator
commerating the event :)

Radisson

Right opposite to USC, is the Radisson hotel. USC has a huge stake in this hotel. Some
sources say that USC owns it. Either way, 2-3 floors of this hotel serve as dorms
for students studying at USC. Fun eh? :)

Sheraton

Started in 1937, the Sheraton group of hotels is one of the two hotel chains that
lay claim to be the first hotel chain listed on NYSE (the other being Hilton). I do not
know the history of this Sheraton, but I can't imagine it being interesting. This
particular hotel is next to Rash's office, and is probably is obstructed by her building,
coz I have never seen it !

Park Hyatt

Bang in the center of Century city, right between the 2 studios is this Park Hyatt. This week's
theme being a lazy one, we didn't go out to get the shot, and instead relied on a stock shot.
I have nothing to say about this hotel except that it looks very eerie.

Wilshire Grand

Overlooking Rash's office, the Wilshire Grand is one of downtown's prominent
hotels. This hotel was built in 1952, and was initially a part of the Startlet
empire. The empire was then sold to Conrad Hilton for $111 million in what
was then the world's largest real estate transaction. I guess Hilton offloaded
the hotel later sometime.
